"DEATH PENALTY"
My second choice was
"DEATH PENALTY"
Director:
PLEIX
Production:
WARM & FUZZY
Sept of 2010
Animation/VFX:
DIGITAL DISTRICT
Can be viewed on You tube
I picked this because the thumb nail intrigued me. The thumb nail picture looked like white soldiers with there guns aimed and ready to fire. Once I hit play I realized that all the figurines were made out of wax. This is a very short film/Commercial a minute long about Put to death the death penalty.
When I first watched it, It looks like real wax figurines which included soldiers on a firing line, someone about to be beheaded, A hanging, and then the electric chair. In the center was a candle with barbwire wrapped around it (the flame). The morel of the story is that the firing squad started to melt, and then the beheaded and so on. At the end their ad campaign came up which again was created using melted wax or the illusion of it. The most interesting part is how well they looked hand crafted and the beauty each held as they were melting into nothing, it did bring the feeling of peace watching them all melt. The choice of music flowed perfectly in sync with the video. Even if you don't agree with the message you will find yourself watching it over and over again to see all the little details that you may have missed the first time.
The creator of this video at first thought he would be-able to pull this off using a still camera and real figurines but that didn't work so well. so he went home and shot himself burning flames and and dripping cream every where to get the melted wax effect. The program they were using did water well but not melting wax. It was said to be a challenge to the end.
